    This may be a stupid question, but does anyone know of any companies that DON'T charge for trailer rent or lease? Or does not charge some crazy high fee?

    Always owned my trailers,,the higher rate compared to tractor only will more than pay for a trailer,
    I have run trailers for a few to several years and the cost per mile is cheap.
    In 07 I bought a stretch RGN for $86K,, put 400,000 miles on it and when I sold it 5 years later I got $66K for it,,I figures my cost to own the trailer was less than 18cnts/mile..
    I had a reefer years ago and it cost me only 7 cnts/mile to own,,my figures include maintenance and tires too.. Back in the 80's I bought a new stainless steel chemical tanker ran it 2 years and when I sold it I got more than I paid for it new.
