I just left trans am. this post is true. there is no way to make any money with them. as a matter of fact they try their hardest to find ways not to pay you at all. The harder you try to get out of the hole the less miles you get and get stuck waiting for loads to up to two days and when you ask for even layover you wont get it due to the fact you are under the load you are waiting for. When I complained about the truck breaking down all the time they just blamed me for not running the miles i was given because truck was broke down and not covering load. I could go on but i dont think there is enough space on here for it.

Estimated charges for a 6 month Lease is around $2000.00 you have to pay. Take that into consideration also.
Plus you need permission to do service from Transam Trucking. If you don't pay their shop to do it, you have a huge nightmare to get it done elsewhere.
Truckers fall for the "dig yourself out" fleece all the time. Another play on this is CDL schooling scam where they run you into the negative (you owe them) from day one.
-Many truckers will fight it out with a crappy company many years before they are bankrupt or live out of their truck. I swear I saw a fleece family once, but maybe they were taking a family vacation? It's really hard to tell with fleecers now = you will see some double their fleece with another and team. Then you have the double-down (gambler) fleecer who was successful once and is re-fleecing in this market with these new trucks.
There are also the truckers that instead of fighting will just deny (the deniers). These guys are a trip in that you would assume everything is perfect -and then come to find out they are big in the hole or even bankrupt.
=I have a hard time understanding truckers. The less they work/own their own truck it seems the more mental issues they have. Right now it seems there are many bitter drivers out there (not just truckers) -be careful.

They have also put negative info on my DAC report and cost me a job after I quit because of a bad refrence from them. I have a lot of documentation about TransAm to back my claim up.
I have a digital file of a phone conversation recorded between myself and TransAm recruiting which will document their misrepresentation which is their 2800 mile average claim.
I ran for them for 29 days and I got paid 179.00 and that is it. The first 2 settlements from them which was supposed to be approx $105.00 was never paid. The first settlement of $50.00 I have a copy of the settlement but a direct deposit record for $0.00 and the second settlement they never attempted to make any deposit. Now after I quit they are turning me into collections for almost $800.00 for the charges of oil changes and tire use and they kept my maint. account and last 2 checks. They put a abondonment on my DAC after I turned in the truck to their terminal and have also ruined my driving career. They gave me a bad refrence and cost me a job after I left. These people are crooks.
I guess am confused as to why so many get into truck leasing and they expect the company to pay their expenses.
Leasing is merely an alternative method to get someone, who does not have the ability or desire to purchase a truck outright, into a truck as though it was he or her own equipment.
Why do people think it is different from leasing a car? You walk into the dealership and have a choice, purchase the vehicle with your own financing or with theirs (which includes a lease option). Once you have signed the paperwork, you don't expect the dealer to provide the maintenance, either routine or unexpected...do you? It's your vehicle, you simply chose to use a different method of financing usually because it requires less out of pocket...both up front and over the lease term.
Downside...at the end of the lease, you own NOTHING. But over the term of the lease, the maintenance and operating costs belong to YOU!!!!! Not the dealer.
If you purchased a truck with your own financial/credit-worthy ability to do so, who would you expect to pay the bills of operating the truck?
Maybe this is a blatant stating of the obvious but it seems to me (as one who is about to embark on driving for a company and who, admittedly, has never driven a mile for hire) that people who want to own a truck would be much better off purchasing the truck and leasing on to a company for authority, freight, etc.
What am I missing here?
If you want to be a company driver, one who drives and expects someone else to pay the bills of operating the truck to someone else...then DON'T LEASE A FREAKING TRUCK!!!!! There must be 500+ examples on this board alone as to why leasing a semi is NOT A GOOD DEAL FOR THE LESSEE!!!!
