    I want to drive for trimac as an O/O.. I have heard nothing but good things about their program.. Does anyone beg to differ?

    Thanks for that info praire boy.. I have done the O/O with another company in the past and it was horrible. I just want to make sure that I would be joining a rock solid company with a good rePutation.. This is my livelihood and can't afford to get dooped when it comes to taking care of my family. I believe trimac is a great company, with a great compensation package for their O/O's.

    Thye've been in business for 66 years. Actually, you see old pictures of Mercury trucks. Mercury's were sold in Canada only. They were a Ford Product, just a different grill that's all.

    MacCaig and Cameron owned Maccam Motors Ford Dealership in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan and that's how the name MACCAM came about for the trucking company.

    Wow! I see that you are from Canada and you know your history of the company very well. I am a local driver so I don't see much of their trucks now. But if you happen to run into a trimac O/O on the road see if they will give you their phone number so I can talk with them.

    I was a O/O for 2 1/2 years from 1/05 to 2/07 . $1.10 loaded .90 empty hauling tankers. I'm currently waiting to drive part-time on the weekend for some extra cash as a company driver doing bulk work. Just waiting for things to pickup to start working by the end of the month.

    I just came off being a co. driver at 307 Houston. While there ( 9 mos ) I had terrible payroll problems. I spent hours every week going over my stub line by line and matching bills. Over 30 out of 38 checks were wrong. One week they gave me a - $45.00 check and ultimately, I'm not sure I got all my money. If you're hitting a grand a week then you don't really miss say $50.00 but when you struggle to gross $900 and they leave 3 or 4 hundred off, well that's different.

    It's not a isolated issue with me either. I spoke to several drivers over time whom had the same problems. Seems if you have a "deal".... ( a dedicated run w/ no changes ) then you're ok, it's when you do multiple things that confuses payroll.

    When I left it was before the end of the first quarter. the payroll gal told me I would get my safety incentive because I earned it. It's 8&#37; of your pay if you don't tear anything up or spill anything and it's payable 30 days after the quarter closes.

    They stole it from me...said it's because I left before the end of the quarter and the payroll gal don't know sheet. ( value = $800 +/- )

    So...there you have it.....

    @iwantotbeatrucker, they run both they have multiple divisions in that sense one of my classmates who was worried about being piss tested was looking at them because they have a division that stays in Canada.

    @the original poster, just as somthing to add out of our 7 different carrier tours with school, theirs was by far the best (even though they dont currently hire newbies they are in the process of putting together a program for hiring said newbies) They spent 2 and a half hours talking to us students, the head honcho and saftey manager at their branch near niagra falls i forget the name. No other carrier tour went over 30 min, They explained in detail pretty much everything about thier buisness how they run things, what a drivers day to day operations are like, and even an extensive tour of their facilities. In other words they care, alot. Me and my classmates were most impressed with them out of all of the carrier we toured even though they dont hire newbies. (at the moment anyways)
