A truck driver from Houston is facing a felony charge of aggravated assault after opening fire on a man he believed to be attempting to slash his tires. Douglas Saint-Louis, 51, of Houston, was arrested Tuesday night by the Harris County Sheriffs Department. The victim, a 58 year-old male, was shot in the buttocks. He was listed in good condition on Wednesday.

in general its illegal to protect property with deadly force...you gotta have more than that. it will be interesting to see all the facts concerning the incident.

They now know the poor guy was just walking his dog

Might be unsafe to walk around a truck in Texas at any time. I really doubt this would be legal. -
Now they will get the driver for reckless shooting because the guy was fleeing and also because he shot a warning shot in the air. A lady in FL received a 20yr sentence for shooting in the air of the garage of her husband's house when he was beating on her, they were separated I believe.

He was sleeping in the cab of his truck because the previous evening a tire had been flattened, he thought he heard air escaping this time. A pocket knife was found in the guy fleeing pocket, it was not out.

I would say for those who carry, you better save it for if they are in your truck only and if they are on top of you almost. -
