I have an unload Monday near ATL were I use the truck air and the customer pump. Does anyone have experience with this type of unload? I understand its becoming more and more common it just goes against all my experience. Thanks all.

It can be done. I used to do it as a backup when the product pump failed. The product we were hauling was thick and it took about 45 minutes to build enough pressure in the tank to get it flowing, then aout another 45 minutes to unload. If you plan on doing it regularly you should look into a compressor designed for unloading. Doing it with the truck compressor is hard on it and will shorten the life.

It's just an air over pump unload, it's no big deal and it won't hurt the compressor any more than any other unload would. It's mainly done with thick product, like glue for instance. Just air up like usual, your lucky, usually an air over pump means your pump and customer air. Least you won't have to get the pump cleaned.

Thanks alot the product is kalcol low temp so it will be thick but not glue like I think its more for the customer's weak pump so it's not an all day event.

I just did one the other day, it was a long way to customers tank so they use their pump with my air.

Same thing, customer pump was really week, so I also ran my compressor to speed things up. Otherwise it would of been a 4 hour offload

You can do an air over pump with just your equipment. Just air up the trailer and pump off. You just need to check the air every once in a while. It usually holds fairly steady though.

I've done it both ways, my air and their pump and reverse. The BOL will usually let you know if the product has an unusual viscosity. Cool thing is the air blows your hoses nearly clean.

So just like how you unload aqua ammonia? except the vapor recovery line is actually blowing air into the tank while you pump , in this circumstance?

Just make sure you maintain positive air pressure. If you have an air leak, or your compressor poops the bed, you need to spot that before the pump sucks the tank in!!!
