UPS Chicago Ridge?

    I noticed the past week or two UPS has moved into the old Yellow Terminal in Chicago Ridge at 101 and Harlem.

    Did UPS close any locations because of this move?

    I used to work at that location in Chicago Ridge for Yellow and from what I understood that land was contaminated, I wonder how they got around moving in their? I also heard they stole all the copper out of the buildings their, UPS must have spent some dough getting that place in shape?

    I thought it was freight, but if what slim is saying is true I'm guessing it's parcel?

    Parcel has a huge place right down 294 so hmmmm? I didn't get the best look to see if the dock was being used or not...

    Them docks are empty, although I've seen a few trucks in the west side docks looked like salvage type trucks so who knows, I go past there several times a week I'll look a little harder monday

    Ya it is, I worked their as a package handler right out of high school. It's massive inside and out.

    I was there last year at my old job and we did some delivering at the ups parcel on 294. They use that old yrc terminal for extra drop lot storage for all their cartage/contractor trailers. At least that's how it was last year. I remember going to the 294 spot to get one of our empty trailers. Then they told me to go to 101 and Harlem as that was their overflow.

    What was it contaminated with? Never heard about that.

    That would be Hodgkins/willow springs. UPS is currently renting space at the BNSF overflow lot in willow springs also.
