Browsing the Local News Online and came across this .. US Xpress driver hits a Dollar Tree not far from downtown Indy.. does USX have a Dollar Tree account if you know, please chime in .. BUT this is a reminder to all newbies (including) myself that city driving you have to use CAUTION and watch/know whats around you and your truck.. several tight spots tight turns I have been in and had to use some unorthodox techniques to get myself in the clear.. Different article stated he lost control taking the turn too tightly.. estimated $30k in damage to building.. I feel for the guy.. my first day out.. 44k of beer in the box.. didn't have my tandems in the right spot and stalled out going up a small hill in Eden, NC.. almost had a freaking panic attack..

I am sorry, but I do not feel for the jerkwad. I looked at the pics and see a VERT LOW curbing, he could have easily mounted and went onto his way. As I do not know what he was thinking, he's just plain dam stupid. I hope he got fired.

Some of these dam newbies have such a hard on that they are drivers now and screw up like this makes me more angry every day of the quantity (certainly NOT QUALITY) of newbies coming into the industry,

I for one am GLAD that soon I will be retired and any NEW rules, regulation's coming down even harder on newbies will never affect me or my brothern veteran drivers that have so diligently done our best over the years to be professionals, and KNOW HOW to take such what seemed like, a SIMPLE way out of there.

I'm not even sure the curbing comes into play, if he would have skirted the other building and did more of an "S" turn rather than a diagonal I don't even think he gets the curb? Unless I'm missing something?
