So before I waste my time at a Volvo stealership here's the low down .
Put a new trans into my 06 670 speedo is way off compared to actual speed 74 mph gps actually shows 81 on the cluster. ..
Sooooo questions
Would this be a speed sensor issues or would they be able to program it recalibrate by plugging it in.?
It's annoying because Im either driving too fast or too slow lol.
Volvo gauge cluster vs speed?

Was the transmission the exact same model? If it wasn't it could have a different final drive ratio that could put it out.
I would doubt the speed sensor would do that, usually they either work or they dont -

Prob Transmission output shaft teeth are different so it's not calculating proper speed. need some good reprograming by someone that knows what the hell they are doing and you'll be all good .

Yup figured, I stopped by at volvo in Cheynee wy and they wasted an hour of my time telling me how it's easy to do it on the cat motor lol. It failed so when I get back to Cali I'll take it to Volvo and see if they can do it

On a Volvo truck 2006 the information who can affect the speedo is located in the parameter of the VECU they call K-Facto, the VECU share that information with the EECU.
K-Factor= Turn per mile of rear tire X rear axle ratio X transmission output shaft tone wheel.
You should do the calculation with a calculator and then program that big number in the VECU parameter with the proper tool.
Note: Fuller transmission use 16 teeth tone wheel and Volvo I-Shift transmission use 6 teeth tone wheel for the output shaft.
The accuracy of the Volvo cluster (speedo) is +3 km -0 km
