Can anyone explain what the Sweet Spot indicator does on the dash? Do you use it? Does it work?

Just indicates whether or not you're mashin' on it or being nice. Used more for company trucks I would suspect as you can set it to try and achieve a certain mpg if they have a rewards bonus set up.

It is supposed to tell you when the engine is operating in the most desirable(efficient) RPM range.

    One $ sign = good
    Two $$ signs = best

It does not mean you are getting good fuel mileage, but that you are operating at an RPM that is desirable. You could be pulling a steep hill and it will show two $ signs.

From my experience it's usefulness is questionable.

You can be running at 1800 rpm and I wouldn't call that desirable but still have the 2 $ symbols, but I agree that it's probably useless.

Helps guide you to get the best mpg for the given rpm and load. You want to try to keep the arrow from going too far under the avg mpg target when pulling a hill
