What are the miniature doors for on the trailer doors of reefers?

some loads require "burping" the inside of the Trailer. Onion loads require this.

Access to get a pulp temperature on the load. Some trailers have two doors. One on the front, and one on the back.
Now since the one on the front is usually very high up, I always believed it was so the flyng leprechauns could fly into the trailer and cool off...Rick Brown, rayraythetrucker, truckon and 3 others Thank this. -
