I am a writer composing a feature for ***site removed*** on the topic of which U.S. trucking routes are considered favorites by truckers, and would greatly appreciate any first-hand input. The feature is focused on routes that cover a distance of at least 600 miles, have specific start and stop points, and that you appreciate for having one or more of the following elements:

    *Beautiful scenery
    *High-quality truck stops
    *Excellent food options
    *Reliable weather
*Clearest roads (least amount of traffic congestion)

The feature will include a slideshow of images and all sources will be noted, so please feel free to include any related images you've shot. Hope to hear from you!

If you don't like the scenery just wait an hour for it to change. Lol.

Oh I don't know. Passing the closest scale and rest area on the way home is my favorite scenary.

    Truck Stops:

There are a wide variety of truck stops to choose from along this route, but one of the best in the country is the Triple T in Tuscon, AZ. Great restaurant (Omar's Hi Way Chef) was featured on The Travel Channel. This truck stop refuses to conform and retains its vintage charm, reminding one of truck stops from yesteryear.

I like I-80. Lots of different scenery, lots of wildlife to look at, and I like to watch the Midwest harvest in the fall. As far as reliable weather, it's VERY reliable. You can experience all 4 seasons in the space of 600 miles:p

I84 from Salt Lake City to Portland. Great mountains, endless rolling hills in Idaho, and coming into the home stretch is the Columbia River Gorge, one of the most beautiful interstates in the country. It's about 775 miles point to point.

The weather can get squirrelly in the winter, and sometimes you get a bit of heavy traffic getting out of SLC, but it is by far one of the most enjoyable runs we've done and we swing out there as often as we can.
