Hello,
I am a marketing/business student and I am trying to do some research and I am missing the costs of this item. It seems to be lumped in with general maintenance.
How much does the windshield of a truck cost?
Do you fix it when you get a rock chip or leave it to be replaced when it gets bigger?
How much do you pay to get a rock chip or crack fixed?
Thanks in advance
What do windshields cost?

Depends on the truck model. I've paid as little as $100 and as much as $440, some push $700.
I use those disposable repair kits to fill chips on my own. They aren't perfect, but they do keep it from spreading.
If you get a hit and through some clear tape on it, it will help to keep it from spreading and getting dirt in it until you get a chance to use a kit on it.
I've had as many as seven chips in it before changing the windshield depending on how big they are. Windshields generally last about two years at the most as they get pitted from dust and sand making it harder to see through when the sun shines on it.Oxbow Thanks this. -
Mine are about $40 a side and I change it myself. Takes about 15 minutes. Flat glass is much cheaper than curved windshields
