What do you think about the Park My Truck app?

Best way to deal with the parking problem is to become a bullhauler. Therefore, you never stop and you do not need parking! Problem sloved.

I think they may be overselling the ability of the app. How is it supposed to know how many "available" spaces there are in any given facility at any time?
Example. There is a test program in progress to address this issue along I-94 in Michigan at the moment, paid for by your tax dollars to some high tech company who promises the moon. You see signs a few miles before an exit for a truck stop that has changeable signs indicating the number of empty spaces, including rest areas. They use some type of computer program hooked to video to scan the parking lot, the program is supposed to tell the difference between a space with a truck in it and one that is empty.
Great Idea. Doesn't work.

 

Yea and no level 2 or 3 inspections, they dont like sh** on their clothes.

 

Who was supposed to benefit from this news segment? Does the writer really believe his/her own information??

Because it is so unrealistic to be laughable, and of course the typical American, non-trucking-related consumer will never know that this is utter BS. I'd like to see this really happen but like a previous poster has stated, how is this app supposed to stay updated minute to minute? You're most certainly not BSing the professional driver who is out here.
