After 23 years of driving commercial vehicles, dumps, low boys, and mostly rollback/car carrier I will be pulling a box trailer tomorrow. We have a contract to auction off a large communication company's vehicles when they retire them and I have to go to long Island and pick up a box trailer. It will be a double whammy, 1st time pulling a box and 1st time back to the city in probably 8 years. Any advice for things to look for on a trailer that may have been sitting for a long period of time? It's definitely going to be strange not being able to see through my trailer like usual. lol
What is the big rectangle thing in my mirror?

Check all the normal suspects...lights, air lines/brakes, tires...see if the tandems will slide especially since you're pulling it through/out of the city. Ask if trailer tag/registration is valid.

Copy on the normal suspects, I don't think the registration matters in this case as the trailer IS my commodity.
Straight Stacks Thanks this. -
I have never slid tandems either as car carrier is fixed. I don't think it will be necessary as I only have to make 2 turns and then I will be back on 495
