Driving and working without a/c is one thing.
Trying to rest without it in high heat and humidity is another.
I don't know how we got on subject anyway, since the owner got this guy hotel rooms so he could cool off and sleep and he was running at night, which is the right thing to do.
I wish they had gotten me hotel rooms this summer when mine was out!

About 100 miles South of St. Louis....right in the heart of last year's floods & this year's drought. Funny the difference a year makes...

No ac, finish the load on the truck and that's it . Off to get it fixed . My truck my choice . Times change kinda like the climate !

I would never abandon a load for any reason, but there's another side to the story we haven't heard.

I once left a truck on the midle of the road with the transmission on the pavement blocking both lanes, it was only a block away from the yard, so I got all my stuff from the truck walked over to my pick up and went home.

Now do you think that tranny just all of the sudden fell down? I was for a long time complaining about it, every time I did they checked it and say, your good, we'll fix it before it gets worse.

that same afternoon just an our before it happned I told them, this thing is going to fall off, again got under the truck, no problem go make your last delivery and bring it back, so backing out of a drive way aftre the delivery was done the tranny went down all the way, I got on the two way radio and say come and get the truck I'm on my way home and that was the end of it.

I NEVER EVER NEVER Idle my truck until the temp drops below 28, and yes even in Laredo in the summer, 4 fans going slept good all night.

    Bully for you.

I have no problem shutting down when it's cold and I don't run mine unless it dips down to about 30. The heat is a different story. I do not sleep well when it's hot.

drove plenty of trucks with no ac no power steering etc
drove an old model b mack with no heat with a blanket wrapped around me
i wont go back to those days but the point is no one should ever abandon a truck anywhere but in the bosses driveway
