What Year/Model Tractors does swift currently use? I read that they use new tractors, but I am unsure if that is current

Most of their trucks are less than 3 years old, they buy whatever suits them at the time

    Pretty much all but petes...

I came out of the school 6 months ago.

    I got a 2015 prostar w/100k miles.
The first guy with it got fired two days before I got assignment. He ran it off the road. It has one white rear wheel, and some damage under the steps. Other than that, was pretty much a new car inside and bodywise.

Another guy from school got a brand new Volvo.

A chick from school got a 2013 Volvo.

Another guy got a turd heap 2012 cascadia.

Recently on our account, guys driving old turdboxes... Have been able to swap them for lease returns T660's.

A few months ago, there was a line fresh delivered T700 automatics in Lancaster.

    It's a crap shoot.

Do they let you pick the truck if it's available? Hoping to get a Volvo with whatever company I go to.

I don't think you have any choice. I've heard of guys being flown to another terminal to get a truck.

    Why Volvo??

Had a loaner for a few days. Hated it.
Interior ergonomics suck. Cup holders suck.

    Bruised elbows, kneecaps, head.

I agree on a lot,of that but for a new driver Volvo is the way to go. The big ol windshield and side windows is almost impossible to hit crap. I'd hate to put a new driver in a t660. Too much of a truck for a new driver for sure. The upholders in the volvos are not even good enough to hold a phone but I use a shoe on the ground and out my drink into it lol. As far as interior and hitting my head and legs that doesn't happen. Couldn't be happier with my 780. The 670 is a lot smaller for sure. I'd take a prostar cummins over a Volvo 670'anyday

Hmmm... Pretty sure they were 700, could have been 680. I'm not really up to speed on all the different models.

But they were all anyone was talking about for weeks.

On the plus side, about the auto's.... Feedback tends to be favorable!

You got it right bro,Volvo is the way to go.Drove few Prostars,Cascadias and 2 Peterbuilts.Nothing compares to Volvo!.The Peterbuilts were the worst .I mean 16 gauges, seriously? And where do I turn on wipers?Hmm, interesting place to locate 4 way flashers switch! Not very practical but artsy.Oh and you feel like in a tank with this windshield size of tank visor.Ok ok one can probably get use to all that but what for if there is Volvo? You might have never drove a truck but you get into Volvo and you feel at home so to speak.
