Yeah, i got hood fever and didn't care about that at the time. Now with crappy MPG's and really running some numbers, you are correct. Hence why I'm looking to change some things very soon here.

    Fullforce Thanks this.

Mercer did have an age requirement of 97 or newer but I believe they dropped because they want trucks so bad right now but they do not want any more mechanical engines if I am correct

Is it because you can't run e logs on a mechanical engine? Or an emissions thing?

Well solve all the problems.... get a 2013 glider truck with a pre-emission electronic engine. I did. Over $40,000 less than a comparably spec'd 2013 truck with all the emission junk. Avoids the 14% Federal Excise Tax. Fewer mechanical problems, lower cost to buy and operate, carrier requirements (except California) met. No brainer.

California is trying to force us to run new trucks or at least new engines if we do not fall into one of the exemptions.

According to CARB, this is the last year I can run my truck in CA. But to be honest, I always get a bypass at the scales and the fact I only venture out that way maybe once a year I will run there till they pull me out of line and tell me to take my truck back to Indiana. And I will.....till then I'm gonna truck it up all I can.

    DrtyDiesel Thanks this.

Lady that does my IRP said they had an informational bulletin saying to have CA on cab card will require certification. Now this is IL and they march to the tune of a different drummer so who knows. This think has changed so much but it seemed to be a decent fine for getting caught.
