Hey drivers. In need of some advise. Got my license and drove a year pulling a skateboard for Prime Inc. Made $1000-1100/wk as a company driver. I left the day my one year contract was up. Left on good terms and am totally eligible for rehire. After leaving I went to a much smaller regional flatbed company with the promise of $1200-1400/wk. I know how to run and work. Not scared to do what needs to be done to get the load there on time or early. However, I'm barely making half of what I was told I would make. Been here two months and having serious thoughts of going back to Prime. I know their system and have a good relationship with my FM. HOWEVER, I'm tired of being lumped in with the booger eating ####### which make up a very good part of primes drivers. To get to the point here, are there any decent paying flatbed companies out there that will hire out of north Florida? I need to bring home at least $1000/wk or it's just not worth it to me to be out here.
Where to go?

I know you would like to go non big company but I recently talked to one of our flatbed guys (Averitt) and they are home every weekend just like us making .46 or .47 per mile plus I think he said $75 to tarp. Small fleet of only 45 drivers.

Maybe Lone Star Transportation. (www.lstinc.com)
I don't know if all the drivers make that much or not;you'll have to call and ask. -
Small fleets aren't for everyone. I'd make more money if I went elsewhere but I'd not be home with my kids on a weekly basis. Honestly there are tradeoffs and you have to decide what those are.
If you're making peanuts and never home, dump that gig.chopper103in Thanks this. -
10-4. Thanks for the responses. I'll be keeping my options open.
