i live in wayne county West Virginia and I will have my class a cdl's next week and would like some info on some good starter companies. TMC, Maverick, Werner, Schneider and U.S. Express are the companies that recruit from our school. Any feedback would be appreciated. Being a laid off coal miner I think I would like the flatbed work more than any other field of trucking.

Remember it is illegal to have more than one CDL. Go with a company that runs through your area alot...if you ever want to see home.

Two flatbed companies that have terminals in WV:
    Howard Transportation
    Waggoners Trucking Co.

There's real good money with Maverick glass division.
    TMC has driver facing cameras.

I'd go with Maverick, Waggoners, Howard.
As for other types, Abilene Motor Express would be better than those others you listed.
Abilene has an excellent reputation and is a reefer company.
