I was headed to bed, but this requires research..... -
Tow truck company on the tv show "highway thru hell"Vilhiem Thanks this. -
Well now there's a business that doesn't run low on buisiness!
I'll inquire with them about that, thank you! -
That isn't another "ice road drama-queen" group is it?
Looked at their site, but didn't see anything about employment.
At this point though I'll admit I'm not sure if you're joking or serious! With some of you, that's hard to tell in text! -
Well I was half joking. But they dont seem like a bad outfit if its something you were interested in.Vilhiem Thanks this. -
My interest was piqued based solely upon location.truckon Thanks this. -
Hot Shot from my perspective. I started doing it about 3.5 years ago. I would pull a goose pretty often and bring home 600-1000 a week.
Two years ago bring home 500-800 a week.
A year ago 400-700.
So far this year 600 has been the top pay.
300-500 much more common.
Now at nearly 450K miles my engine needs major work. And I can't afford it.
Maybe there are markets and companies that are doing better. But I figure nothing much is going to change without a sea change in the Whitehouse..... -
Ouch. If you're in the oil patch and dependent on that business this is a rough time. This points up the fact that in this business, as in many others, you can't have all your eggs in one basket. Flatbedcarrier spoke about this above, and if you missed it you need to read his post.
Talk to farm equipment dealers, manufacturing companies, landscape supply wholesalers - anyone who ships big stuff. Even if they have their own trucks. I do several trips a month for a local landscape supply distributor to either help them meet demand or cover for them when their driver is off or their truck is broken down.Lite bug, flatbedcarrier and Vilhiem Thank this. -
what are the thoughts on trying to get a basic start with a bumper pull and some small loads?
If there are local loads for supply houses, manufacturers, etc then this seems to fit in that.
Would these type of loads show up on the boards?
I know it's been asked and I feel like the answer is you need to be all in to go anywhere in the business.
