I wrote this up in the OO section then realized it probably would not get any traction because I wasn't asking one of the same three questions asked there all day -__-
Any of you fellows ever write a project bid for a specific move?
What all do you include in a bid aside from a general or specific breakdown of pricing?
I'm looking for info on presentation/format as well as content.
I don't even know what I don't know on this front.
I don't know who to even ask. I'm shooting blindly and hoping I hit something.

What kind of project? Civil contractor? Did you get a bid pack with "scope of work"? I've done project work (yuk!) & have been on the other side of the desk when I had the construction co., I'd be happy to help if I can. I can at least tell you what sent a bid right into the round file for me......
Funny you ask the question, with rates being what they are I decided to go back to project work & am shaking the trees with the GC's I've worked with to see what they have going this year (fall de-mobs) & next spring.Ruthless Thanks this. -
I did not get a bid packet. My customer builds all kinds of products out of metal. The project in question is 2 bridges for a bike trail. All of my info comes thru my customer.
The scope of my work is: drop trailer, when they have it loaded come check to verify it's to my satisfaction, organize all permits and escorts, drag it to its destination, wait while it's unloaded. Is there a better way to word that for a bid project? I've gotten some great insight thus far- as far as what to include on the rate schedule. -
A Bid Proposal
List your ETA's on delivery of vehicle for loading and when you expect to be at the consignee, the dims of the load and the value, list the estimated expenses for the move plus your cut (the profit you want to make on the load. And at the end write, "Respectfully submitted by X of Ruthless Transportation on MMDDYY"peterbilt_2005 and Ruthless Thank this. -
