Good luck! I plan on applying in the near future. Hometime isnt an issue with me either, and that seems to be the only real conistant complaint. I have a hard time taking complaints seriously that come from people with 1 or 2 years in the industry or less than a year at a company. No company is perfect. And to me, it seems like people expect too much from the industry, and blame it on the company when it doesnt work out.

ls6, for every one bad thing I've heard about TMC they've been followed up by at least 10 good things. I want to pull flatbed and TMC was at the top of my list for that. I've been in their sights since September of last year and they've called me every week to get me in. I passed on their offer when I found a flatbed outfit close to home. I just finished my first week with them and I won't be doing another. I got home today around noon and called the guys who called me every week, I'll be in Iowa on the 28th. Should have just stuck with them in the first place.

I wasn't sure what you meant, that is why I asked. While I agree somewhat to your comment, the only thing a new driver has to go by is the word of the (barf) recruiter. While making "a lot of money" is subjective, there is good money to be made by company drivers. Unfortunately, it won't be made by working at a company that has recruiters.

I think my post came across a little more general than I intended. I didnt mean I wouldnt consider anything said by someone with little experience. If someone drove for a company for 6 months, and gave specific reasons that the company treated them wrong, I would definately appreciate what they had to say.

I was referring to the complaints that provide no information as to what the company did to the driver. Like when a driver gets fired for no apparent reason and starts bashing the company they worked for. When in actuality, they were let go because they hit 3 trucks in a 6 month period, or something of that nature.

But i guess thats not always with just the new drivers. All I was trying to say was I dont pay attention to negative comments when there are no details to support the comments.

    Hope that clears it up

When I was there I barely took home $400 a week. One of the reasons I left was because of that and I seemed to be sitting a lot waiting for loads. If I didn't have personal problems at home to deal with I would have stuck it out a full year to see if the money would have improved.

I would think theres a lot of experienced drivers making $50k a year or more but I can't see too many 1st year guys making that kinda dough. Some are maybe. Having a real good FM helps too. Believe half of what recruiters say, thats their job after all, to get you in the door so usually they will sugar coat things. Overall TMC isn't that bad I would say, but theres big gaps in satisfied drivers there. Some have it great others gotten screwed.

Why is the wait time to get loaded and unloaded so long?
But there is potential to make decent money?
Their are so many jobs out there it is a lot to learn about every company to make a good choice fo me and my family.
