I have 3 1/2 yrs OTR and a clean MVR and CSA - looking to make a move into Flatbed and really like what Ive seen over the years of watching them. I do have a few questions -

Do they allow inverters in the trucks? Will they allow you to have a microwave etc for cooking? I cook on the road and save a lot of money that way so it's tribal to some but important to me? Also, don't need to be home every weekend, so If i stay out say two or three weeks at a time am I still only allowed a weekend off at a time?

    I appreciate your time!

    ziggity Thanks this.

They would have to be a 7 day out 1 day earned, surely?

Did you look in the TMC section under "motor carriers - inside scoop?"

I am not sure if they would only give you 1 weekend off if you stayed out for 3 weeks or so. I do know that you can purchase an invertor through them to have installed by them after you complete your first 40K miles because they install it when you get your PM done. (every 40K) They don't mind about having that stuff in there as long as the invertor can handle it or if its a 12V then you can have it no problem. I do know that the new 579 petes that they are starting to run may have the invertors in them from the factory, not positive but they seem to have a lot of other stuff in them like a TV so I don't know why the invertor would not be in them already.

Sure not a problem. If you post up the questions in the TMC thread under companies, I want to say there is a couple guys on here who work there currently. I no longer work there but would recommend them to anybody who is a new driver or wanting to go to them to learn how to do open deck work. Great place to work!

I want to know what TMC drivers make annually. Beginners and after you top out. Can you make 45,000 your first year?

Yes you can make 45K your first year. I don't see why after a year and you learning the system, 60 being hard to achieve.

do the trucks have radios with auxiliary ports for IPOD's? Just wanting to get an idea of how the trucks are setup and what to expect when I go to TMC.

The trucks are set up with sat radio (you pay if you want it) and aux port for Ipod etc. Also a usb port on the radio and Quallcom box. Plenty of 12v plug ins to run chargers and such. I want to think that the new trucks come with Vespar heaters and like a 20" flatscreen tv.
