While it is true that 32% is easier to maintain while training, it can be done solo as well. My experience was 23/24 months the last two years at 32 ( I took two weeks unpaid leave for a surgery and it knocked me to 31 the Feb past). Its real important to leave on Sunday eve, keep detailed records of fuel econ and invest in a good trucker's GPS and learn how to use it wisely to control OOR miles. Even when I had stretches of months w/o a trainee I could hold at over 200 points ( 190 needed to hit 32%).

My best advice for a new driver is to be detail oriented and develop good work habits early on. They'll stick with you and become the norm before long and its a lot more challenging to change bad habits down the line vs. keeping good ones from the get go. Not everyone can hit and hold 32 but everyone has the opportunity. Even at 28-31 you'll still make more than the majority of drivers out here.

Unless you take a full 13 weeks off from training you still have an advantage over a solo driver on revenue. Im a very efficient driver and I could never maintain 32% f not training for more then 13 weeks. OOr was always 4% or less. revenue was always 3800 or more. Of coarse my engine was using a gallon of oil a week and was about to blow, thus my mpg sucked. Even so, I don't know any solo driver who has not trained for 13 weeks making 32%.
