Sweet, will def get started on that. How picky are the background checks for hazmat and twic? I dont have anything major and no MVR in years. do have a felony charge that was BS and got dismissed totally in the end.

They will show you the proper way to lift a tarp. Its not hard if you do it their way. Dont hurt your back b4 u go there practicing the wrong way.

TMC currently has a lot of 379's. they are upgrading to 579, but haven't completed it yet. Short term you are likely to get a 379. They let you idle since there is no apu or anythign in the sleeper. Anti idle laws arn't enforced any ware but California. You can also pay TMC like 150 bucks to install an inverter for you so you can power ac load like tv laptop microvawe etc. The new 579 will have diesel bunk heaters. You will not need to idle them to stay warm. They will also have a built in 20 inch tv, and built in inverter. No APU, but an inverter and bunk heater are almost as good. Since your not paying for the fuel, who cares if it has an APU lol.

TMC has 13's for the 379's and 9's for the 579's (manual). They will teach you how to shift both the 13 and the 9. No experience with either is necessary although training on a 9 will be better then training on a 10. Maverick is all Auto

TMC has a john deer account. boats is the big one.

Any ware in there hireing area, although oh is a great place to live. They have freight that goes all over the country bus mostly they haul on the right half of the country.

Wont help you to much to start (but wont hurt), although long term having them will allow you to get the highest paying freight and insure you have the most job security.

get an inverter for power. it can run off the truk batts for most stuff. As for restarts, you normally take restarts at home.

Thank you very much Richter. very helpful. I take it you work there? How long? Takes care of a lot of my questions. I think this is def who I want to work for. The horror stories don't scare me, Iam not afraid of work or doing it the way the boss wants. I like having to prove myself. been doing it my whole life. Trying being a foreman in sheetmetal at 22, always gotta prove yourself, so that's all gravy. just keep my nose clean, learn all I can and work my *ss off.

Do have two new questions though about the transmissions/trucks... Do the trucks have good pulling power on the hills/mountains? How are those 9 speeds on the 579's? Seems like your tradeing power range for less shifting..

One question about the percent pay.. I have a really good feel for the kind of miles decent drivers get at Maverick from posts on here in the Maverick section. What kind of money do decent (save, efficient, on time) drivers make with TMC as a weekly average?

I wont mind a 379 in good shape. I like the look of them better.

Tmc runs elogs. And percentage aint bad if the freight pays, but it all boils down your financial situation at home. You wont get rich there but you can make a decent living. Hell, you cant really grt rich drivin a truck anywhere. But i liked their percentage pay. Id work towards gettin on deere and youd be on mileage there. Always felt like you got paid for what you did... unless you come across some bank payin freight... or even boats, though your home time is not as often... youre doin the right thing boss, research to find you a good home, youll be alright either way. Tmc got some good folk over there and they take care of their equipment...
