I must say I am very excited to join TMC I have a set date of March 17th to arrive at orientation. I graduated Truck Driving School in January and have been taking my time trying to find the right company. I am really excited to get a chance to be part of the TMC team. I was just looking for insight on what to expect. I have been working out the past month to get in better shape for training. I have heard you must lift a lumber tarp weighing around 120 lbs. I am 175 lbs 6'1 so I don't see that being a problem. I am also working out my arms a lot to prepare for getting the hang of tightening down straps and chains. Does anyone know if they have any kind of gym at there headquarters I was just wondering because I know a lot of larger companies do. I am also pretty decided that I was going to go with the percentage pay over mileage. I live just 30 minutes east of Cleveland and I believe I am in good freight lanes. I was also wondering if it was true that TMC had a contract with Lowes to allow drivers to park there, but I wasn't sure if it was true. Only thing I am not looking forward to is the bus ride via greyhound out to Des Moines. Any tips anyone could give me I would greatly appreciate it.
Excited to join the Black and Chrome family

Best advice I can give you is stay quiet and listen to everything your being told, do your best, and don't walk on the grass. Oh yeah if you smoke only smoke in the designated spots.
Drac1985 Thanks this. -
Good news for you they have or had last time I was there a contract with Home Depot warehouse in Solon, OH and you were always trying to dodge the daycabs and trailers. I think they had a yard spotter there too.

i dont work for tmc but i think this is a really good move, nice equipment, really good freight area and you gonna start when weather will start warming up.if i knew better when i started driving thats the route i would've went.percentage pay is the way to go ,just stay in the midwest and you'll do very good.be careful and remember your cdl is the most important Thing to worry about.
