Maybe try this...
Approach the instructor who you are having a problem with and ask if you can have a private word with them. Make sure it is private and don't allow any interruptions.
Start by mentioning how excited you are to be there and how excited you are to work for the company. Then tell them that there is a bit of a problem with them making a joke out of your medical condition and that it is not only improper but is also borderline harassment and that for your sake as well as theirs it would be best if they would not say anymore about it and that you just ask them to not make you the brunt of any their attempts at humor. Possibly mention that if they are willing to protect you that you will stand up for them if someone from HR brings up the inappropriate comments. Try and make a friend out of this person and not an enemy.
If you totally sweep it under the rug you do yourself a disservice and you do the next potential target a disservice. Standing up for yourself doesn't mean you get canned, it doesn't even have to end up that the two of you are adversaries, make this person your allies; put yesterday behind you and have a great new beginning.
Take it for what it is worth...

Are you a lady? Did I miss that somewhere?
-
-
No I am a grown man but still its even more embarassing being a man and being made fun of for something like that.
-
some of these guys are right, if this is the worst thing you encounter in trucking you are fortunate. you are going to have a heck of a time at truckstops and such,
you know considering some of the problems I see folks in all walks of life deal with on a daily basis, paralysis, rheumatoid arthritis, missing limbs, bad knees , , bad backs, ptsd, and on and on, I don't know if your "disability" of not being able to take a leak with someone around qualifies to call in the aclu, hippa cops and disability act cops.
I mean are you looking for a trucking job or a lawsuit? it was your first day, wait til ya start getting jerking around loading and unloading, hopefully you have the ability to pee in a bottle, if not you are iin a world of hurt.
I don't intend this at all to be mean or hateful, but come on , you have a physical ailment, I would not exactly term it a disability. it doesn't stop you from anything, at least we probably dnt have to worry about you peeing in the parking lot.
this business I think will chew you up and spit you out.truckon, leftlanetruckin, passingthru69 and 4 others Thank this. -
Ok, how can having a shy bladder be a disabilty.. Gonna go get welfare and SSI now are we?
Look you can't pee on demand..Ok get your meds if you can and just suck up the training part and do your job or find some other line of work..
There are times I can't get the stream started, but I just block out the noises and it works.. Relax, go burn one or something.
But to file a claim for being picked on give me a break.
I bet when you were little the big kids picked on you too and you cried about that too.
It's life, Just say no to the hand holding nanny country we are becoming... -
so you mean they may have to start building sound proof toilet facilities, and before I get raked over the coals, I too have a prostate problem that causes me to have to pee urgently without warning, its a old man thing apparently. and I got a wife that deals with full blown rheumatoid arthritis and never complains.leftlanetruckin, passingthru69 and Dinomite Thank this. -
Oh by the way go take a long stroll on the grass there at TMC.. See what happens then
leftlanetruckin and yuban Thank this. -
