The term "weekend" is used loosely lol. Sometimes home on Friday afternoon and leave out on Sunday evening. Could be home Friday night/Saturday morning and leaving out Sunday morning. Sometimes not even getting a reset and just running recap. It all depends on your work ethic, if you have problems at shippers/consignees, traffic and how well you manage your time.

Depends where you have to be, and how your 34 turns out. Sometimes your hours won't work out and you won't be back to like Saturday or something. Nature of the game.

Boyd is home weekends also. My bf's dispatcher asks him every week if he wants to go home or stay out.

I see a Mc Elroy truck, sometimes loaded, sometimes empty, parked in the same spot every weekend. 30 miles north of Chattanooga.

TMC, McElroy, and Jordan I know for sure can get you thru the house on weekends for a 34. (Let's just call this what it is...a 34-hour reset, while at home. Sometimes it can be more than that, depending on how things go.) I'm sure Boyd can, as well.

But...I'll just say this: yes, having the right (or at least a good) fleet manager is definitely part of the equation--after all, they're the ones who need to know how to "play the game" of dispatching to get you in position location-wise to even get you home on weekends...but a LARGE part of this also falls on YOU, the driver, to DO YOUR part, as well. Sometimes that'll mean foregoing a shower stop if your hours are running short and you need to make it through that high-traffic zone to get to the consignee (or as close as you can if parking is available), planning your fuel and rest stops smartly, and a good bit of hustle. Some weeks it works out better than others. But just understand it won't magically "fall into your lap" either. It's a collaborative effort between fleet manager and driver.

McElroy may be a good fit. I enjoyed my time there.
