Well I graduate today. Excited is an understatement.
talked with itch my driver trainer and we head out Monday evening for my first load, and going into Canada. Very cool.
Well it has been fun, tiring, and eye opening. I still have lots to learn, but the real adventure is about to begin.
stay safe out there everyone.

Bring your brain and a few changes of clothes. You'll only need your boots on the first day and for the weekend of load securment training. Unless you like driving in boots bring a comfortable pair of driving shoes. The best advice I can give you is to just relax and take it easy while you are there, TMC isn't the military, they arent as strict as you probably think they are and most importantly they WANT you to work for them. They'll tell you that you are in a two week long job interview, as long as you don't piss hot and you actually paid attention in school you will do fine. I'll say this, the orientation is the easy part it's the five weeks with your trainer that will really test you. You will drive 11 hours a day, you will work in bad weather, you will get filthy dirty and some times not be able to shower etc etc etc. The orientation is a cake walk in comparison to the job.
