I went to TMC's orientation and they sent me home in the days. They gave me a bogus reason. On the van ride to the bus station, one of their employees, that was assigned to do petty tasks since he was hurt and couldn't drive, told me and the other guys they let go, that TMC gets done sort of government kick back for everybody they bring in. Supposedly around, 3 thousands a person. According to the TMC employee, he was driving ppl hone for the weeks. And it was the same story every week. Theywould nit pick and cut you lose. I respect TMC but them wasting my time wasn't cool.i have a family to feed. Anyways, if your in a class of thirty ppl, watch out...

Let's see, if I can see through the grammatical issues here..You were sent home the first week. What that means: failed drug test (home within 3 days) lied on your application, you were a complete jerk off in class, you failed the tarp test, or you messed up at the hotel, hit on a worker or something, have something that would prevent a medical cert, you were overheard saying something stupid in the smoke pit, bathroom, chow line...etc. or you looked like a slob and they didn't like you. Everyone knows tmc looks at about everything in a driver. You go there unprepared and looking ate up, you're going to be going home. They want you to take pride in yourself, and what you're doing there, cause it shows how you will treat THEIR rigs, not yours. This isn't swift, you can't just walk through the door and be handed a truck, you have to earn it. Now fix yourself and continue mission elsewhere. Try western express, I hear they love tmc flunkies.

There are various Federal government tax credits under the Work Opportunity Tax Credit program. However, an employee must be employed a minimum of 120 hours of work before tax credits start to accumulate to the company under a sliding scale. So, TMC bringing people in and sending them home before they finish orientation IS NOT giving them any sort of tax credit.

When a potential employee shows up for orientation at Swift, are they NOT required to show that they need to earn the right to drive one of their trucks?

You are right. TMC isn't Swift. Swift trucks run faster than TMC trucks.

Ok, so that extra 3 mph gets you 33 more miles in a day. At Swifts pay scale you would earn what, $8.00 a day. Wow, you could buy yourself a brand new pair of sweat pants with that.

Swift trucks only run 62...unless you're a lease op...Then you're just a glorified company driver with a fancier truck. The only thing swift drivers need to do is pass a piss test, have a CDL, and show up. Their orientation is what, 4 days long at the most? Then you get your "trainer." All you gotta be able to do is make fog on a mirror and you're set.
