TMC has requirements of their drivers, nothing more than other companies. Safety is at the top of their list, if you are unsafe, you will not be driving for TMC. They dont go out of their way to get rid of you. Why would they? That would be bad on their part. As far as guys getting removed from orientation, yeah, it happens. When i was there, we had a guy who was getting sent home due to an injury that he sustained in Afghanastan during his last deployment and it not being cleared through the VA. TMC was going to pay for his ride home no issue. They found out after the guy had left that he had stolen a check out of his roommates belongings and attempted to cash it. If you go to one of the bars and drink, or partake in any of the wacky tobaccy, and are caught, you will get removed. I mean orientation is a two week job interview. If you cant follow some simple rules, then why would they even want you around as an employee? Yeah if you are caught doing something incredibly stupid like smoking pot, or doing other drugs, getting drunk, then they will most likely be kicked out of the hotel and be told to find your own way home. Im pretty sure there are other companies out there that do similar. CRST comes to mind.

As far as localish runs around Ky, its possible. We have some dedicated runs down there, You wont see California much, if any. We just dont have many routes that go that way. TMC's routes are primarily I35 east to I95. That doesnt mean we dont have freight that goes out west, but we just dont has as much freight that goes that way as we do in the midwest, and east.

As far as hometime goes, ask any driver how often they go home, I be most will tell you every week, a few will tell you every couple of weeks. So far Ive had the option to go home each week, Ive stayed out one week. To be honest, you should ask any TMC driver you meet, ask them anything. Most generally not one will have anything bad to say, and if one does, its usually because hes one of those drivers that hanging around by a thread.

Also what are people referring to when they say with TMC everything's your fault. I'm assuming just more people neglecting to listen or follow instructions

Yes they just got a raise. It was 400 when I started then the start of the second week, they bumped it up to 500, plus they put apartment fridge's in the hotel rooms, and were putting in microwaves the following week. Training was 5 weeks. Thats the standard. If you are doing exceptionally well, they MIGHT cut it to 4, but mine was 5.

Learn something right now, if it happens it is the drivers fault, PERIOD. All companies have the policy, guilty till proven innocent and the chances are slim.

Sonnyd, If all goes as planned I'll see you on the 20th. My school ends on the 17th and I'm turning a fast weekend to get from central TX to Des Moines.

I've noticed many people are only concerned with making the big money up front on their check. After listening to what guys like Gunner and others have said the up front money seems decent at TMC. What nobody is talking about is the money on the back end. The company match 401K and the employee stock are a huge deal if you don't treat the company like its only a starter gig. If you do the math sticking with TMC will put a really nice chunk in the bank for retirement. I don't want to work until the day I die.

I'll restate that I do not yet work for TMC. I have however been doing my homework and the big picture looks like a pretty good deal in the long run. Just my .02.

The amount of money they are touting with the esop is a lot. You'll be #### hard pressed to save that much in a 401k, or a ira.

Sonnydmiller I am also from ky. Just north of lexington. Hate to ask question on this thread but just curious what school you went to. I'm still looking at my options and schools around the state. Just trying to get some feedback. Also looking at tmc. Any info would be great you could give me about schooling. Thanks
