I have one yr exp. with dry van and thinking about flatbed. If I did go flatbed it would be wit TMC. Im prior military and TMC seems to fit. Quick question, how would the training go? Since I have driving exp. would I still have to spend 5 wks with a trainer? Any info would be appreciated.

Tmc tarps alot...heard the pay is pretty good..u will be fresh in flatbed so I believe from what I've heard from previous conversations....they do these programs at the yard..i think it's called boot camp...where they teach u how to secure a load..

What made u think about going with tmc? Have u looked at ats out of Georgia

I understand that....ever thought about pulling tanks? Way more money for way less work...most tank companies pay about .45cpm if u were to do 3k miles a week that would be 1350.00 a week just driving....not including your detention pay and tank wash pay and break down pay and layover...about another 150.00 to 200.00 a week...

but flatbed is a good field too..to personally for me they don't pay for the work you have to do...but it's 10 times better than dry van or reefer

I just figured it would break the monotony of driving. i dont mind working. Besides, flatbed makes alot more money.

Flatbed makes more money than dry van. Do you know any pros and cons of the two companies?

My pros and cons would be different from yours...
Home time...how fast do the truck run..how long is secure training. ..pay per mile. ..benefits and insurance. ..who does the less tarping...if u want to get into heavy haul..who offer that

    EagleSix Thanks this.

Looks like what mine would be, lol. Im also looking at Big D express and Hirschbach even though they are van and reefer. It would still be better than I have now. Im just tired of sitting.
