Hello all. I've been lurking here for about 6-8 months but haven't contributed anything, I've just been taking stuff in.
I started red studying for my written tests, passed them, got my DOT physical completed, and then wound up laid off from the job I was working. I got enrolled in a training school in Austin, TX, where I live, and just graduated last week. At graduation time I had been talking to Gus with TMC. He has been a huge help and seems like a good guy, didn't sugarcoat anything and just have me the no BS basics, which is what I was looking for. After considering my other options (teams with a buddy at Werner, local for the beer company, or oilfield), I decided this was my best route.
I considered the Texas Dedicated account but ultimately decided on Line Haul, I figured I'd see more, learn more, and make more there. I will update this periodically, all thought I'm not sure it will be as in depth as Gunner75's thread.
Any advice, questions, comments, are all welcome!
Starting with TMC on January 26th.

Congrats on getting CDL! From what I see on here about TMC they seem like a good Flatbed company.

Thanks guys. It sounds like a good company, ran strict but ran right.

I agree, powerstroke. That's part of why I picked TMC.
