    Hey everyone,

I'm starting CDL classes in May and I'm currently researching different companies. I'm definitely leaning toward tanker or flatbed. How exactly does the ESOP work? Is it a good sized annual contribution?

6 years about 44k free fully vested . 20 years pushing 300 k all for free just work.

The ESOP is an excellent opportunity in my opinion, similar to a pension plan except you are fully vested after only 6 years.

This guy breaks it down pretty well. You can tell he's trying to sell it but from what I've found it'll sell itself really. Seems to be a good program.

That's all assuming you are willing to deal with the shortcomings that tmc have.

Getting a fleet manager that plays favorites with the other drivers on their board. Being pushed to become a trainer if you aren't interested in doing so. Trailers that seldom get fixed correctly. (Abs malfunctions, dump valves that dont work correctly)

    mxpx148 Thanks this.

Don't get me wrong these things happen at other companies too. But most places get their trailer maintenance down. I pulled several trailers that had issues that never got fixed, when they were brought up, i was told to just deal with it till its time for its full service

That is when you "deal with it," by red tagging it and refusing to pull it if it is unlawful or unsafe!

having a nonworking abs system is not an out of service issue, and neither is a nonfunctioning dump valve. They just tell you to turn it off. They arent necessary in pulling loads, but its annoying when it constantly happens.
