As far as the question about governed speed, all of TMC's trucks are governed at 65 MPH. Between saving fuel and safety they figured out that was the way to go. The 13 speed is really no different from a 9 speed except for the thumb button on the gear shift which lets you split each gear on the top end. Good luck to you guys in orientation and hope things goes well for ya'll. From looking at that formula it seems that ya'll are looking at the mileage pay. Did anyone tell you about the percentage pay? Just wanted to make sure that you have a choice and you will be able to figure out which route you want to go during your time with your trainer.

JMO, but I think percentage is best also. DH compared his percentage rate with a guys mileage rate from his class. It worked out better for us on the trips that were compared 100% of the time.

| Also it is getting bad outside again. Long haul means less tarping...

I was thinking about that too notarps, with winter setting in longer hauls will mean less tarping. I think I can swing throwing on the carhardts for an hour or however long it takes to tarp up a load but I'd prefer long haul anyhow. At least as a new OTR driver I would, part of the lure of this career is seeing the country. I'm sure there gets to be a saturation point though where the same stretch of 80 is like nails on a chalkboard but as a new driver I suspect I'm further away from that point than an experienced driver.

the website says less tarping and more drop and hook so i am glad i am going with the long haul. The only down fall is less home time but thats ok with me, time to burn up the roads
