You know, Brickman I would love to be an owner operator, I really would. But in this economy, it just doesn't seem like it's worth the stress =(

They aren't a bad company by any means, but ALOT has changed. I can only hope that it goes back to the way that it used to be eventually.

I have actually decided to go back into IT after doing some job research in my area. It's still long hours, but i'll get paid for all of them, and be home!

Well my latest check has a $5.00 pre pass service fee, whatever the hell that is. I was told the $2.50 deductions were through, I didn't realize they were going to replace them with $5.00 deductions. I'm really beginning to tire of the BS with TMC and paychecks. I also got hit for a $20.00 driver advance, I have never taken an advance in the time I've been with TMC. Going to have to call the FM tomorrow and find out what in the hell is going on. They did however pay me the hazmat fee for 2 of the 4 hazmat loads I've hauled since starting with them in January. It was really nice of them to do that after I had to dig through my records to see if they had paid it, and then dig through them again to find the pro#'s. These guys are snakes, plain and simple. I'm anxious for the economy and trucking in general to pick up, until then I think there really isn't any other option aside from taking it which I'm certain they are absolutely counting on from most of their drivers.

Hey cplmac, I'm the same as you as I have never taken a driver advance, my question is on the reimbursements for toll reciepts is why don't they have a breakdown for us as to what tolls they are paying us back for?? I too have had plenty of issues with payroll on reimbursements as well as them missing 2-3 bounce pays a month. They make us break everything down, write pro numbers name and ID on every single receipt (which is ridiculous trying to find the space on some toll reciepts). But we have no idea what tolls they are paying or what ones they are waiting on... All I run is the northeast so I can try to get home every weekend, I average $150 to $300 a week in tolls, sometimes hitting 5-6 toll booths a day...losing the Prepass easily adds more time to my week hitting that many tolls. Comchecks or advances are a total pain in the ###, as I said being in the northeast you dont have truckstops every 1/2 mile like in the midwest, but then again, hardly any tolls out there either. Sorry guys for the rant, don't ##### much but the whole toll BS has just got me fed up is all!!

To all TMC drivers watch your checks like a hawk, they obviously don't!

Oh Yea, thanks for the PrePass info you posted cplmac, I'm going to look into that BestPass you mentioned a little harder...Just curious how TMC would handle that one..

Theres lots of companies out there that hope you don't analyze your paycheck, and for the ones that do they make it harder for you to figure out. A few dollars off each paycheck times the amount of paychecks they put out and thats a big savings.

Damn I live in the Newark NJ area and drive local I might not hit 7 or 8 toll booths a day. Something is wrong with the routing. Dude thats alot of toll reimbursements.

I live in the Chicago area, so I hit tolls every time I go home and every time I leave. Another big problem with the no Pre-Pass is so many toll booths around Chicago are change buckets only, so you can't get a receipt. I'm not sure what to do about these, I have to call the FM Monday. If they aren't going to reimburse them without receipts I'm not sure what to do.

Ok Dude, I live in south Jersey so lets count...Going to Mass from home to unload then western NY to reload...

Lower section of GSP #1, NJTP(95) #2, GWB #3 (95), ConnTP(95) #4, MassTP(90) #5, NYThruway (90)#6.

How about south or west? Almost every bridge out of Jersey has a toll, Deleware has tolls, Maryland has tolls, Pennsylvania has tolls.

Never said 7 or 8 but there has been days when that happens..Nothing wrong with the routing Dude, just they way it is, can understand how a local driver could not understand that.
