Is TMC going Under???

I have heard a lot of things lately and I think were there is smoke there is fire. I have heard that TMC's credit is basically non existent and that is why Blue Beacon won't extend them any credit so this is the reason TMC cut back on washes is because they don't have the $$$ to pay for them. Another point on this is I heard from someone on the inside that there credit line with Greyhound was shutoff as well because they didn't pay their bills so they couldn't get bus tickets for their new drivers to get to orientation.

Anyone else heard some things?

I don't think they are going down, but they are trimming every where they can to save money. But nobody really knows in this economy if they are or aren't. Hopefully they can stay afloat till things get better. If it gets worse there they will lose a lot of good experienced drivers maybe.

They are not sponsoring Micheal now. His present sponsor is Pilot and he drives for Germain Racing is the Nationwide Series. He's doing pretty good for a rookie.

By the first of the year, there will be quite a few less companies out there. We should start a pool !!

Is TMC going Under??
That is a very good question.

I was in for service this past week at Indy. Got there wednesday night and spent half the night there before them sending us to the hotel 30 +/- minutes away in Shelbyville ( the one 5 minutes away was booked). Then returned the following day at 7am to wait, my appointment was for the night before but they said they were backed up so I ended up waiting until 4pm before my truck was finished. During this time I had the chance to talk with quite a few drivers being I just stood in front of the shop all day. Talking to the guys gave me alot of info being most of them were veterens with TMC and there were a few there to turn in their trucks. (3 guys with 4 to 6 years tenure with TMC) All turning in the trucks for the same reason...Just not happy with the recent changes and the direction the company is going in..

After talking to the shop manager about the repairs I needed and him saying " sorry man, we can't replace that or fix that because we don't have the part/new tires etc.. being TMC is just not paying the bills.." Also talking with the experienced guys about different issues I've come to the realization that TMC going under probably is without a doubt a possibility if things continue..

I think that TMC took away EZ-PASS/PRE-PASS because they did not pay the bill..That would make more sense then the smoke they are trying to blow saying otherwise.
I think that TMC can't or didn't pay the bill to Blue Beacon either, thus Blue Beacon suspending TMC's credit for truck washes.
I asked the mechanic who worked on my truck when it was done why some of things that were still unfixed or not taken care of, and he said " Sorry man, TMC is not fixing that right now because of the cost, plus the parts places won't send us any."

I feel the same as alot of you guys, I really would never say anything bad about TMC and had a ton of pride when I started with them, but I would feel much more at ease if I new the truth about the negative changes. But I guess that just would'nt be good business. But would sure make alot more sense!

DH's last day with TMC was yesterday. We were surprised that they let him work out a two week notice since most people said they pull you in immediately after giving said notice. He starts with a new company next week.

His reasons are the same as everyone else. There is some very interesting reading on Polk County IA Court's website that helped make his decision that much easier if anyone is interested. PM me and I'll shoot ya the link if you can't find it.

The parting for DH really is bittersweet. He loved working for TMC. If you're looking to get into the industry, they would still be a good starter company if they make it through this winter.
