Not sure which is better but Con-Way only hires grads within 30 days of finishing school.

I went to TA orientation back in 06. I ended up not driving for them (personal reasons) but it seemed like a good company to work for to me.

Orientation was great. Instructors were good. Equipment was decent. Lunch was catered. Hotel wasn't fancy but clean. We got meal vouchers for the Pondarosa across the street for dinner. Rode a company bus from the hotel to the orientation site. Everyone in my class went home for a few days before hooking up with a trainer.

As far as I know, all their trucks are Freightshakers.

I just finished orientation last week with Transport America, no trainer, orientation is 3 days, first day is a DOT physical, physical evaluation, some computer work and paperwork, 2nd day you finish up the computer work and take your road test, 3rd day is log classes more paperwork and then they assign you your truck sometimes they won't have a truck there so they'll rent you a car to go to another terminal to get a truck, I got an 07 columbia, it runs good has a bunk heater and looks decent

That is correct. 6 months or more and you just do orientation for 2 or 3 days (can't remember which) and then get a truck.

Less than 6 and you do orientation for 5 days (mon thru fri) then go home and wait for trainer.
