Starting orientation this Monday, been trucking 14 yrs and wife almost 2 yrs. Been an o/o previously. From what drivers on the road been telling us seems like a pretty decent place to work. Any comments from teams especially would be greatly appreciated. Just got to the point with fuel going up and needing decent medical benefits decided to go back to company driving. Also, if there is anyone willing to split referral bonus with us be glad to put you down. Just email us or message.
Starting with Transport America this week, good place for husband & wife teams?

Do some good research cause from the talks I've had getting information about them for a friend of mine has been totally opposite . I've talked to 4 teams 6 solos of the 4 teams which is your area I was told lots of SITTING about the best average I could gather from all combined is about 4500 miles is a good week with them for a team .
Lots of FED EX stuff which is JIT night runs prob is you sit for around 4-5 hrs on each end to get a reload tot stay moving cause of the load cut times or something like that. Oh the 4 teams here was the break down
1. Happy - been there 7 yrs
2- were leaving cause they were mad about miles told me stay away both had been there roughly 1-2 years respectively .
1- was not happy said had been decent until the last 3-4 months so they were waiting it out a little while they had been there 3 years
Solos - I was told run and stay away by 4of 6 they were getting around 1800-2200 as a group average. Now to be fair on the solos 2 were newbies less than 1 year. But only 1 of them had glowing reviews on the solo side said he'd been there for almost 6 years .
Anyway I got no dog in the fight either way don't work there and have never worked there . I was getting information for a O/O friend of mine and thats what I found out . Take it for what's its worth .
Good luck on your new adventures -
worked there for 10 months, but was actually ready to quit after 2 weeks.the most driver unfriendly company i ever worked for.that honor had previously belonged to celadon ,but transport america made celadon look like a nice place to work.

ditto to ready to leave after two weeks, been here 3 months..........not many miles and then all of a sudden you have to switch your whole sleep schedule to run fed ex jit overnite freight.....not safe or a very driver friendly company.....not sure what to do yet......this place is too much like Schneider, although when I was at Schneider it was run better than this company......but it sounds like Schneider in some way has a a hand in TA

very good place. have a buddy that drives for them along with his wife

I'm happy driving for TA..Yes, the miles drop here and there, although it depends on what they have to get you out of there.
-
it's the most restrictive company I have ever driven for.....when you're on a fed ex or amazon load you are like a puppet on a string
