Folks, I'm not making a mountain out of what is already a mountain, to down play this as a mole hill, go tell that to all those drivers whom were BLACK BALLED for simply wanting to quit. Usually when someone quits a job the simple thing to do is go get another job, People they are having a very hard time getting another job and lost ability to earn a living.

    http://www.dacfix.com

Once again new drivers don't take my word for it check out the link I've provided, and read the page, they say, they are the only company in the nation who can fix a drivers problem if you're placed on this dac report and for some reason if they can't help you, your out of luck. TAKE TIME AND RESEARCH!!!

New drivers, the term: getting Black Balled is a term used when someone gets mad at you because you won't compromise yourself then they tell other companies not to hire you, a dac report is the list of people that has been black balled so protect yourselves.
To agree and say, "the industry has problems", but then join in is simply wrong! Companies usually are competitive and pride themselves for the number of happy employees and customers, so there must be a problem when a large number of PEOPLE report you to this site. This site is "The Truckers Report", a tool which allows the general public to view a companies practices. When you have a 80 to 90 percent turn over of drivers every year. NOT GOOD

    SOCIALOGY 101:

    THE TRUCKING INDUSTRY
We sometimes take life for granted, I know I do, but at time we should really think about what we're getting into. Not getting to technical I'm going to provide some info just from the internet that is readily at hand. The trucking industry has been Institutionalized.
What does this mean, according to Wikipedia:

The term institutionalisation is therefore sometimes used as a term to describe both the treatment of, and damage caused to, vulnerable human beings by the oppressive or corrupt application of inflexible systems of social, medical, or legal controls by publicly owned, private or not-for-profit organisations or to describe the process of becoming accustomed to life in an institution so that it is difficult to resume normal life after leaving.
    per "Wikipedia"

Does this sound familiar? let me continue: per "wikipedia".

In a corporate context, individuals who work within large established organisations can become socialised into organisational values and norms, and values and norms may become institutionalised. It has been suggested by some writers that such supportive structure and routines may in some cases lead to a narrowing or reduction in individual critical judgement and reasoning.

These are not my words: "SUCH SUPPORTIVE STRUCTURE AND ROUTINES MAY IN SOME CASES LEAD TO A NARROWING OR REDUCTION IN INDIVIDUAL CRITICAL JUDGEMENT AND REASONING".
    per "Wikipedia"

New drivers and you season drivers, this is alot of information, take your time and do your homework. Getting your CDL is awesome so protect yourself, BECAUSE

Treating people like they are ciminals, preventing them from getting employment because your mad, BLACKBALLING THEM just isn't right. Change these practices and maybe just maybe they'll want to stay.

Good luck and congratulation on getting your CDL

S***T all I have to say is if all you ever had to run over was a few feet of grass to get into a shipper, you aint seen nothin. Ive delivered on dirt roads in Purcell Va. City Sidewalks in Manhatten, and on rural 2 lanes in PA.

get used to places that dont have provisions for big trucks. It aint all bumpin' Docks. Any monkey can hit a dock.

If there aren't ruts in the grass then you screwed up! Of all the trucks that go in to a shipper and there is grass that doesn't show but a FEW tire marks then you need to figure out that you need to swing a little wider as MOST of the other drivers did!

You are the driver and have 2 nice mirrors and a steering wheel and can slide tandems up for those tight places! Quit whining and own up to a goof up!

Teampitts, union has nothing to do with whether or not an LTL advertises on the back door... I worked for Overnite years before we were bought out by UPS and became UPS Freight....we never advertised on the back door. And YRC's problem isn't the "union" it's poor management....they tried to be big dog and buy out the competition so it's causing them some financial problems now. Once again...management problems. USF Holland was always profitable being union until YRC bought them out. even with the tons of drivers passing each other to pick up freight next door to where another driver was. You are correct they sold their hdqtrs bldg. Overnite was NON union before the buyout, and we always did well and drivers were happy. Now it's a lil' bit tougher as UPS has alot more stringent rules but in general guys are happy. THAT'S why drivers want to work for this type of company...home every night, great pay and benefits, and a system to grieve perceived wrongs by the company. I'm thankful i got on as it's afforded my wife to stay at home and raise our kids and us to live comfortably. I put my dues in OTR with T/A and tbh it was a really good company to start out with. always treated me fair, payed decent for a starter company. But then again i never refused a dispatch, and was never late for an appt (weather permitting). Had a fantastic dispatcher named Zoe, she kept me moving and got me home. just my .02

I guess this all comes down to one taking responsibility for their own actions. If you screw up, then own up to it. I know several guys that have worked at T/A over the past few years, and I started with them myself over 10 years ago. Yes they are the typical starter company, yes they will mess up your DAC if you are a screw up, yes they are in business to make money. Trucking is like this, if you don't like it, go back to McDonalds and flip burgers, or sweep floors at Family Dollar. You need a thick skin to be out here in a truck. I train drivers now for another company, I deal with students like you all the time, they never make it, stay for training, work three weeks or a month and then quit. If you don't want to drive truck, stay off the road!

It's gareenteed they will mess up your DAC, funny thing is, "Walmart pays buy the hour, on the clock making good money and NO ONE IS QUITING" It's not all about having tough skin, people have had to lie to QUIT THAT COMPANY, YOU SAID IT YOURSELF "THEY WORK THREE WEEKS OR A MONTH AND THEN QUIT" Hell, you yourself said "you where their 10 years and now training at another company"...I guess never mind retirement from a company and getting a pension for all those years you put in!!
Oh' and since you brought up McDonalds and Family Dollar, McDonald's drivers that delivers McDonalds makes great money per hour as well as Family Dollar!!! McDonalds are a billion dollar industry, you want to use McDonalds as a cliche when McDonalds is an excellent company to MAKE MONEY!! I can only amagine in these tough financial times the new drivers at that company!! Again.... "hopefully everyone do their homework" don't get caught up and lose your CDL!!

Remember: "Wanting to leave this company for another company, you've now become competition for this company...don't get caught up and lose your CDL!!!"
    IT'S REAL

That can happen at any of these starter companies. That is that... I left T/A on good terms, I had no problem, just told them I had a better job at home. That was it. Took the truck to North Jackson, cleaned out my stuff and my wife drove me home. The only notation on my DAC is my employment dates. I have a close friend that left T/A less than a year ago, again for a job at home, driving in the oil patch. Nothing bad on his DAC, and he even had a fender bender while he was there. Your a hater, and that is okay. I can't say I would never go back to T/A, but I doubt it. I like where I work now. Good luck with whatever you do. If you are looking for a job I hear Roehl is hiring...
