Say you have a thread with 20 posts...you want to quote 10 of those in one fell swoop, right?

Start at the top of the thread...on the first post you want to quote to your post, click on the multi-quote button...then go to the next post you want to quote, click on the multi-quote button again...etc., AFTER you get to the very last post you want to quote, click on the REGULAR quote button (NOT the multi-quote on the last one) and it'll add all of them in your post for you to add your comments under EACH quote!

It is a very cool tool to have and saves a lot of time! Enjoy!

I must be doing something wrong. I see others posts using the quote option and the quoted passage comes up as blue. I tried a multi quote earlier (apparently incorrectly) and wound up with text all the same shade. Any suggestions as to what I did wrong? The section I am referring to is Trucking Industry regulations and the thread is "driving over the limit."

When you multiquote. Just click "multi-quote on EVERY persons post you want to quote. Then click "post"

If you're quoting one person....click qoute.

If you want to break a post up...I'm not sure. I generally hand edit, myself.

Thats probably what I should have done is just use the quote and then try to insert the cursor between the paragraphs to respond to each section I wanted. Or is that the wrong way to break up a quoted statement to respond to each statement?

If you want to break a quote up. You must "re-insert" the unqoute/quote at each point. And type your response between them.

I don't know if there is an "auto" feature for this. As I said, I do it manually.

OR, you can do like others. Simply change the font, color, and bold type your response inside the quote at the desired break points.

It would be really slick to be able to multi quote from one thread to another
Especially in the political section, catch the fip flopper's

You can. If you know how to do it manually.
