Yes, but sometimes maybe the members could voice their opinion and if enough agreed it should be relaxed maybe the mods would reconsider. It is pretty strict here, and I think some enforcement is a good thing, but over enforcement pushes away good people who may use more colorful language than you. I'm a member of another forum that is totally un-moderated. It's a drag racing forum, and anything goes. But it is packed full of great people who do great things for people in times of need. I don't expect TTR to be like that forum, but I see no difference in typing out words and the editor changing it to "####" and us changing it to "%^&*"...If you can look at it and figure it out, it doesn't change a thing. Sometimes "vulgar" words as some call it, makes the statement the way I would really say it, instead of how the police(mods) want me to.
I was typing something the other day, and it wouldn't let me type a word that had to do with working on an engine. But it was a "vulgar" word according to the filter and I feel that if I get pointed for using that word then I am not welcome here anyways and will just leave. I ask a guy about how do you re-tard(leave out the hyphen and it edits it to ######) a diesel engine timing, if it has no plugs and wires. I found my answer and no one was hurt. Should I have ask, How do you "special education kid" engine timing in a diesel, with no plugs and wires?

Y'all can discuss this till the cows come home......bottom line is this: We have a certain vision of what we want for this community, if you can follow the house rules great....you'll likely never have an issue with one of the staff members here....keep pushing us with this skirting the filter nonsense and you'll likely be getting an infraction or shown the door if it continues.....it's pretty cut and dry really. You don't have to agree with our rules, that's okay, but we do insist you follow them.
I always laugh when I have someone tell me that you can hear worse on TV....or at work...etc...etc....You probably can....but that doesn't make it right.Admin, classic_150, Big Don and 8 others Thank this. -
