One another thread one of the mods was laying down the law for bigotry comments. Why do you all defend Muslims, gays, and other races, but you won't defend those of us who claim name of Christ, better know as Christians? People are allowed to say Jesus Christ as a curse word, it is not x'd out. I have seen Christians verbally abused by members on this forum in religion section. I have mentioned my beliefs and been mocked for them. One person says something offensive about a Muslim and you all are ready to ban people. I'd like to hear from several mods on this one.

We do defend Christians, as we do the others that you have pointed out, there just isn't much of a problem with regards to Christians being made fun of in the open forum. The other religions and races that you pointed out are for whatever reason an easier or more comfortable target for SOME to make fun of, thus why you see us move on those swiftly and sternly. Making fun of ANY race OR religion is prohibited here, if you see something that we might of missed report it, we WILL look into it.

That's because it would look awfully funny in the religion forum if every time someone typed Jesus Christ it looked like, ##### ######. If you see his name used as a curse word, report it.

The religion section is NOT moderated.

I hope that gives you a little better understanding of things here.

It does, thank you. What you said is not true though. It happens alot outside of religion section, just not reported as much. Thanks for answering though.

Like Oscar said, bigotry is NOT tolerated here, no matter who perpetrates it or is the subject. We always appreciate reports of posts in this regard.

If you feel it needs attention, please report it. We only can read so many threads in the amount of time that we are on here, so when members report posts, we really do appreciate it. We all try to discuss the situation and come to a decision together, as far as what will be done. So it might not happen right away, if you report something that you feel needs attention. But believe me, every reported post does get reviewed by the team.

Thanks for asking, and again, we always appreciate help from the community.

I would encourage all members to report posts that contain bigotry so we can address those posts. It takes all of us, moderators, and members, working together to police this site and keep it free of bigotry and whatnot. There are allot of new posts made everyday and with our limited number of staff members we can't be everywhere or read every post on the site, so we depend on you guys to help us out.

So what you are saying, MT, is that the forum staff is bigoted against bigotry. Right?:biggrin_25525:

Ya folks what he mods said about reporting certain posts, believe me they take those reports seriously and doesn't take long. There's always a mod on here. They do read all the threads and posts but one mod might not see the flam throwing when another mod does. But if you report your issue right away like I said it won't take long before its address.

Thanks, pattyj, I appreciate the kind words about the staff. I need to make a couple corrections, though:

    - We do not read all the threads and posts. ~60,000 new posts are added every month, and the staff only sees a fraction of them. We rely on members using the 'Report Post' feature to alert us to posts that need attention from the staff.

    - We do not always have a moderator on the site. Moderators don't work shifts, they volunteer their time as their schedule allows (or in some cases they make it part of their daily schedule), so there are gaps of time when no moderators are on. When moderators do come back on, sometimes there is a list of reported posts they have to deal with, so there are plenty of reasons why a member might report a post and have to wait a few hours before action is taken.

Thanks, it's a huge compliment to the staff that we've fooled you into thinking that we're everywhere all the time. I just don't want anyone to think that they're being ignored when it's not the case.
