    Actually, I'm not that bad. I'm smart enough not to have been yelled at by the Mod Squad in all these years. Maybe that's because I've been a 'Moddie' in a past life, or two !!

    Anyway, here's my query: Every time I post, my post count seems to go BACKWARDS on my public profile !! Not that I care about having huge post counts, I'm just worried I'm going bonkers and seeing things.

    I did a forum search on the issue and got no hits. Am I losing my mind ?

    Tks - just curious.

    If your posting in the social area it no longer gets a ticker increase. As this is another reason why you dont see me lurking in Otter's or Flo's threads anymore. There are many places on the board now where post counts are turned off.

    Since I feel that post counts matter, I simply have moved to other parts of the board where my brief wisdom of a truck driver can help others. Besides, now that I am lurking elsewhere I am no longer getting accused of "inciting anger". Then again some day they may dock me for inciting wisdom. :biggrin_25523::biggrin_25523::biggrin_25523:

    Posting in some parts of the site don't contribute to post count, as lovesthedrive mentioned. If a thread gets deleted or moved from a section where posts count to a section where posts do not count, that can also decrease your count.

    I'm just curious. Why do grown men and women care about post or thanks counts? I seem to remember when some changes were made a while back their were some upset members.

    AMEN to that. Why worry about personal stats? It doesn't make sense to me either.

    As a field training officer, I used to tell my trainees, "just do your job, the stats will take care of themselves." (At the time I was with an agency that kept track of activity down to the minutest detail. IT SUCKED!)

    Hey all - nah, I could care less about the numbers. Really. I'm just glad I'm not losing what little mind I have left. If I was that worried about the post counts, I'd stick around the 'Introduce Yourself' thread and be part of the welcome wagon ! :mrgreen:

    Hey Speedy, I may be wrong, but I seem to remember a female poster whose only posts, (or almost only posts,) were to welcome folks in the welcome wagon.
