The thread you are referring to didn't contain anything but inflammatory comments. Which in turn would do nothing but cause a public argument between two members. The OP had already posted one thread about the same subject, and this thread was nothing more than a public attack on another member. Ultimately I deleted the whole thing, to avoid a public display.

In a typical month, members add 40,000 - 60,000 new posts and 2,500 - 3,500 new threads. This community values helpful information and respectful conduct towards fellow members, and some of those posts don't meet that standard. Sometimes, entire threads devolve into bickering, or multiple members piling abuse on another member. Moderators will close those threads to prevent that behavior from continuing, especially if the original question posed in the thread has already been answered. The posts that caused the thread to be closed may not be visible, as moderators typically delete the worst posts before or after closing the thread.

Less than 1% of threads are closed.

As far as I know, TruckersReport is the only trucking community that cares about maintaining a professional environment, which is why so many experts choose to participate here. I'd encourage anyone who doesn't value the high standards in this community to find a forum that better fits their preferences.

At the time of closure there was no argument, closing the thread because it might cause an argument, is the same as, punishing someone because they might commit a crime, if I had started a argument then closure would be acceptable, but not before, just my opinion

If you read the thread, then you know that the original post was directed toward ONE member on this forum. How many of those types of threads have you seen here? Again, this was nothing more than a conflict that someone did not want to drop.

And now I'm closing this thread. The issue has been discussed and explained.
