OK, I'm having a problem. Computer, that is.

I cannot seem to do a multiple quote post using Firefox. It will pick up one or two, but not all of them. Also, someone on here mentioned that Firefox does its own spell check, but mine doesn't do this. I amm ussing Firefox for this pooost and as you can see, there are missspellings here.

OK, second problem: When I use Explorer, (yes I DO use both of them, and have for some time, with no problems,) all truckersreport pages are taking forever to load. This has just recently started.

My anti-virus is up to date, and run on a daily basis. I have registry repair, and it is up to date. My computer says I don't need to "defrag" at this time.

Any ideas, or suggestions? (other than suicide being the easy way out. . .):biggrin_25519:

Do what Baack suggested and then go download the Opera web browser and use it. I switched to that recently, as I was having problems with the browsers just locking up. I have had no probems with Opera at all. I think some of the updates that both Firefox and IE have done lately were mistakes.

Big Don and WiseOne Thank this.

Tools, options, advanced, "general" tab...should be a "check my spelling as I type" box to check...it's also in my right-click menu (should have green checkmark next to it)...maybe disabled?

Looking at your post I quoted, all of your misspelled words are underlined in red. :) Using the latest FF 3.0.3.

    Big Don Thanks this.

Yea, the latest updates on IE and FireFox suck. Sounds like it is your computer. Download the latest version of CC Cleaner and run it to really clean out your computer. Also make SURE you have the latest version of SpyBot Search & Destroy. These two programs are FREE.

Just cleaning out your temp files and cookies is NOT enough...

Also remember...I set the forum default to show 20 posts at once. Make sure you didn't change that in your UserCP. You can set it to show more, but I wouldn't if your computer or connection is slow. UserCP >> Edit Settings >> Posts Per Page...

Also, make sure you pop open your tower and clean it out with canned air. A friend of mine was having problems with hers just recently, and after 3 weeks of being on the phone with where she bought the computer and with the ISP (cable company), she called me to have me come over and check things out. We cleaned out three years worth of dust and gunk, and when I left, her computer and web browser were behaving much better. We are going to upgrade the RAM in her computer soon though, as she does not have enough.

Get the canned air at walmart - $5 for a good sized can. The office supply store charges around $10 for the smaller ones.

beehive, I had an old version of FF on board. I sent it "bye-bye" and updated to the latest version. It did the trick! Thanks.

I'm on a laptop. Dell Inspiron 1100. Not too comfortable with cracking the case on it. What do you think?

It seems that I now have the problem in hand here. Thanks again, everyone!

Use a chillpad if you aren't already. If it's out of warranty, you could take it to a tech and have them do it(open it to clean it). I'm not so sure that it would be all that dirty, much less air is drawn through a laptop to cool it.

I had troubles with two laptops before I got the Lenovo, not a problem with this one yet and I've had it quite a while, this one does have instructions for disassembly.
