Worst truck stop you have been to

hmmm nasty truckstops ?
the ta on 78 at bloomsburg nj .
the i 55 truckstop at bowlingbrook ill .
the flying j at carlisle pa .
the ta at wheatridge col.
the ta at fultonville ny .
any truckstop at exit 71 on the ohio turnpike .

and its a tie for the grand prize of sewers between the flying j and pilot on 465 in indianapolis ...both are cesspools !

 

TA North Canton, OH.

Too small to duck into in a storm. The lot is tiny. One plus is that it is across 77 from a big shopping area. There is a big grocery store there. The Country Pride lacks good service, though. Don't eat there. One lovely waitress came to work with the flu this morning. She caughed and sprayed my breakfast, my table and myself with phlegm and couldn't understand why I got up to leave. Gross!

 

TA in Battle Creek, MI.

This one is decent sized. Better chance to park at night. If you run out of room, there is a Pilot across the road. The restaurant waitstaff in the morning are okay except for one skinny rude blonde. She was hot to run me out of there as fast as I was done eating. I was clearly there to get work done with the wifi. Laptop means working. Back off. You aren't losing money because of me when the rest of the restaurant is 1/4 seated.

The good reason to park there is Firekeepers Casino. If I am staying in Battle Creek, I always make at least one trip to the casino for buffet and games.

 

Flying J in Commerce, GA.

Whatever this place used to be, it isn't now. One big section of the building is empty except for one TV and one table and chair. When I stopped there for a 30, there were no sandwiches in the cold case. Noting there you can grab quick. You have to place an order with the Dunkin Donuts. If you need a place to park, it serves. As many people pee outside as they do in the restrooms.

 

The flying J in Dallas is one of the biggest, if not the biggest, scum holes you will ever visit. Good lord, I've never seen so many flippin panhandlers in one place.

 

Drums was the very 1st one that came to my mind as well, what a hellhole!

 

That place BLOWS! I used to stop there regularly because of a dedicated pickup in Canton. I NEVER had a good meal there and the service was abysmal. And yes, good luck getting parked after dark, ain't gonna happen unless you use one of the pay spots and get there early enough. I avoid that place at all costs anymore

 

The Petro, Flying J, and Love's are all good truckstops at the Perrysburg exit, especially Petro. You must have gone south to the TA or Pilot, which I would agree both suck...

 

Robstown, US-77 near Corpus Christie...not the RoadRunner but the one a mile away, near McDonalds, Whataburger etc. It's called Snappy Food Center or something like that. Valero pumps.

Restrooms are not to be believed. I got about three feet in and did a U-turn.
Parking lot looks like the surface of the moon...you could probably catch fish in the potholes.
Pervasive smell of dogsh8t everywhere.

How anyone could mention a Pilot in a thread like this is beyond me. This place was like a Pilot ten years after the Apocalypse.
