The Pilot in Salinas is another hellhole I've had the "pleasure" of dealing with recently. Forget finding parking after noon, the fuel island gets so backed up you can't get in or out, the scale typically has a line 3-4 deep and truckers have to park in front of the scale to run in and get their scale ticket since parking ain't gonna happen. Place sucks...

Sounds like the Charlotte Pilot. Pilot specializes in hellholes.

Stripes in Stanton, Tx off of i20. Rude teenagers, Disgusting bathrooms and moldy showers.... Last year (oil boom) you had to be parked by 7pm to get parking.

B&B just outside of Blythe Ca. Filth everywhere, food that rats have been chewing on. Disgusting rest rooms. Would you believe they have a massage parlor?

Ozora or Ozara whatever it is in Saint Genevieve (I think?) MO? If you just need a place to park its ok.

    NO FREE SHOWER for fueling.

Cashiers are lazy and get mad when they have to lift a finger if someone wants cigarettes, chew, etc.

They can not ring up simple items such as coffee during "Shift change" This involves taking over 20 minutes to count the 1 single register they have open.

Paying with a TCheck or Comcheck they act like you are stealing their first born son.

The truck wash there is just as bad, they will tell you they can get a truck done in under an hour, then when local drivers show up they leave your truck sit and help their friends out.

They are affiliated with Roady's, not sure if this speaks for all roadys or just them.

    Lazy, lazy, lazy people

Clearwater travel plaza in MN I-94 exit 178 They sell Petro fuel but are still independent. They have their own bakery, a good restaurant, more good places to eat within walking distance. You won't get skinny hanging around there.

Simonson in Grand Forks ND is pretty good.
They are hit and miss across the country, there are a few left out there.

The one good thing about that place is that there is always parking late at night there

Stones Travel Plaza in Watertown SD at I-29 x177. Plenty of parking 24/7, the cleanest showers on the interstate and a 24/7 restaurant. Real nice people, trucking up and down I-29 between Fargo and Sioux Falls is kind of like the old days, a lonely highway and the people are generally courteous.
