White's Truck Stop SOLD!! White's Truck Stop in Raphine, VA, I-81 exit 205, has been sold, and is now under new ownership/management.
The antique gun collection was inherited by a grand-son, who is selling it at auction.
The custom motorcycles are being sold on e-bay.
No lottery tickets, no beer, and even the employees don't know what other changes are in store.
What was once a wonderful place, is changing....it'll never be the same.
The only bright spot in this whole thing is that the daughter who inherited, and then had to sell, White's , was approached by Pilot...and she refused to sell to them. THANK GOD!!!
A fond farewell to White's, as I used to know it....

Yes, it's a private owner. The employees say he is ultra-religious, so no more lottery to be sold from there, no beer, etc.
The gun and knife cases are gone, and in their place are windows, so you can see into the "smoking" section of the restaurant. Come to think of it, those windows are where the giant lizard would have been hanging.....so I don't know what happened to it.
I'm guessing there will no longer be a smokers section in the restaurant. Wonder if the new owner will stop selling smokes, as well, if he is as ultra-religious as the employees are saying?
Such a shame...I LOVED stopping there for a bite to eat, and looking at all that cool antique stuff.

Why would you go to Whites when LeeHi is 10 miles away? Much better food, parking and facilities! I was unimpressed with White's when I went there just a run of the mill TS IMO.
