I agree. That's the kind of post that makes me no longer respect the poster.

Why is it that gasoline at truckstops often costs 10+ cents more than other gas stations? Hmm?

I have a diesel pickup now.

When traveling if I have the time I look for fuel in town not beside the big road.
Often times it is 10+ cheaper a mile off the road than it is right beside the road.
I guess all that road frontage is expensive to pay for.

In a town north of me are 2 truck stops and a Walmart. The Walmart was 22 cents a gallon cheaper for diesel. The walmart is located about 1/2 mile on the other side of the interstate. Trucks cannot get in there.

    I can believe it.

Prices around here jumped about .13 in less than a week.

I know the oil companies and service stations swear they aren't gouging any body but when the price inch worms its way down a penny or two at a time and never more than .05 in a week, but then it jumps up .05 to .15 at a time in the matter of one day..... they can't claim to be innocent.

I will never believe they are only making a few cents a gallon.

    I was not born yesterday.

Well here you go chromedome just some examples.......as you see it was updated on Friday.
Please refrain from trying to insult me in the future, as you can see you haven't got a clue, so until you have experience in this matter maybe you shouldn't go around spreading lies, maybe gasoline is .10cent profit max but not diesel. That old saying "Numbers don't lie" well it should read "numbers don't lie...unless you want them to"

Some companies get a "cost plus" price from TA thru the comdata card.
    Landstar is one of them.

Some times the cost plus was more than the posted pump price.
Some times the cost plus price was .50 or more cheaper than posted price.
To recap.... we know that some times the TA is banging folks hard on their prices.

Because of this I often will not buy from the local TA (3 miles away). Unless they are competitive with other stations. Which happens once or twice every couple yrs.

That is not only true for diesel prices, but for gasoline as well. I don't remember ever being anywhere that prices along the freeway were not higher than a few miles away from it.

It is so much easier to find diesel now, than it was when I bought mine. I've had mine since the end of '95. (It's a '96 model year.) I used to have to hunt around for stations that sold diesel, particularly if I was in an unfamiliar area. Now, it is in the majority of the gas stations.
